We don’t find peace until we know who to trust. Jesus understands this, and he calls people to Himself. He tells the truth, and does what He says He will. Others may let us down, but He is worthy of our trust. Consider the boldness of the promises Jesus made, and the wonderful way in which He delivered on those promises. Think of Jairus’ daughter, Lazarus, the centurion’s servant, blind Bartimaeus… Consider that he said he would lay down his life and then take it up again after 3 days, and did just that. Jesus declares that He himself is the way, the truth and the life. He says that no-one comes to the Father except through Him. Why would we trust anyone who tells us differently?
